Wedi transforms the work of tiling

BATH PANELS IN GOTHIC SETTING

A Total of 115 Wedi Bath Panels Kits have been installed in restoration and new build work at Queens Tower in Sheffield. This Grade 2 listed mansion was originally built in the Tudor style in 1832 by the Duke of Norfolk in memory of Mary Queen of Scots who was held prisoner for a time in the 16th century at Sheffield’s Manor Castle.

Tilebacker's speed and simplicity fits even in a Gothic settingStone and window surrounds from the ruined castle were also taken to build a monument to Mary in the grounds of Queens Tower, all of which reflected Norfolk’s obsession with the Tudor Kings and Queens.

The new Queens Tower complex includes five buildings, three of which are Grade 2 listed and two of which are new build, providing 101 apartments altogether.

Developers and main contractors J F Finnegan Ltd chose the Wedi Bath Panels because of their successful experience in using the system at Wards Brewery in Sheffield, a luxury apartment conversion.

“The speed and simplicity of the tiling substrate provided by the Wedi System were the key factors” according to Dowa Singh, Design & Build Co-ordinator for Finnegan.

The panels were supplied by Utopia Contracts of Doncaster via Wedi distributors R.O. Arnold.
